Summer holidays - things to do

Things to do over the summer holidays

With summer term coming to an end and the holidays upon us,  we've come up with some ideas for things you can do/ places you can visit with your family to help keep you entertained during this time.

Because of temporary closures of some facilities that you might have usually enjoyed over the summer holidays, we understand that this summer may feel a bit limited in terms of days out but  remember to keep checking for updates to government guidelines . There may be some further easing of restrictions and some of these facilities may reopen over the summer break for you and your family to enjoy together.
Remember to stay connected to the people that are special to you, take advantage of the relaxed measures that are in place and visit family and friends. Following the government guidelines you can meet people in public parks, gardens and in some circumstances, in their homes as long as social distancing is practised.

Get out and about in local parks and woods

There are some lovely nature parks and woods which you can explore with your family which are free entry,  but may require payment for parking.
.Enjoy spending time at your local parks now that they are open to the public again - many of us have a local park nearby and it's the perfect opportunity for your child to enjoy themselves, burn off some energy and you could even take a picnic lunch with you and make an afternoon of it.

Milton Country Park, Milton, Cambridgeshire, CB24 6AZ- This park has an impressive playground for the children to enjoy and there is even a cafe where the adults can purchase a hot drink and other refreshments.

Wandlebury Country Park, Gog Magog Hills, Cambridge, CB22 3AE- With a wonderful nature playground for your child to explore, you could take a picnic with you and enjoy a nice day out.

Cambridge Botanical Gardens, 1 Brookside, Cambridge, CB2 1JE- A wonderful place to spend time with your family and explore the beautiful gardens and nature. Tickets need to be purchased online beforehand, admission is £6 per adult with under 16's entering for free (although they too need to have a ticket booked online prior to visiting). There is a Cafe where food and drink can be purchased or you are welcome to take a picnic with you.
